I want to share a story from just last week that really highlights where our industry is going—and how we help homeowners stay ahead of the curve. We met with the Johnson family whose driveway had begun crumbling in spots and flooding during heavy rains. Together, we designed a permeable concrete driveway (which lets water pass through to reduce runoff) and paired it with a custom saw‑cut geometric border in charcoal tones to match their home’s modern facade. Later that evening, I got a call from another client whose old patio had cracked just two seasons in. They were worried it would keep deteriorating. I walked them through one of our newer mix designs that uses a partial recycled aggregate and a low-carbon cement blend—helping cut CO₂ emissions without sacrificing durability. We laid a new concrete pad with a matte sealer (less glare, more subtle finish) and integrated lighting along the edges for added safety at night.
